Up at the crack of dawn and on the road early yesterday to catch the largest single manufacturer show here in So Cal. The show was a again dominated by Mustangs, so I spent my time in the rows and rows of other than ‘stangs and found several gems.
My pick as Best in Show was a lovingly restored, largely unmolested 1964 Country Squire…yes a station wagon. It was original right down to the original owners son now having the car and the rear window covered with stickers from where they took the beast on vacations. Tons of memories for him and glad he shared with us.

Of course no show is without its survivors…car that collect a patina with age and wear it well. Unmolested and still in use. My favorite was a 1972 Lincoln Mark IV this time around.
Of the modern cars there were several of the hot hatch Fiesta ST, Focus ST and Focus RS. There was one Focus RS that stood out as best in show for me. A 2016 painted a screaming yellow, scissor doors and trick multicolor LED lamps around the headlights. Really a sweet ride for someone.
